Indonesia Food and Nutrition Day is celebrated annually on January 25. The day was established to raise awareness of the importance of a balanced diet, healthy lifestyle, and addressing issues related to malnutrition and poor nutrition in the country. Nutrition issues are a priority in Indonesia, as the level of childhood malnutrition and the rise of chronic diseases related to poor nutrition remain a high concern.

The main objectives of the holiday:
To educate the public on the importance of proper and balanced nutrition, especially among children, pregnant women, and people at risk.
To combat malnutrition and the problem of micronutrient deficiencies such as iron and vitamin A among the population, especially in poor areas.
To promote a healthy lifestyle, including physical activity and mindful eating.
To reduce the level of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases through improved nutrition.
